this one hits home

I stumbled onto a re-posted blog post written by a fellow youth pastor that shares about a friend that passed away. His friend was also in full time ministry.

It was an incredibly moving piece that got me stuck in my tracks but there was a poignant moment in the blog that hit home in more ways than one.

J died long before he got on that plane yesterday.

J’s death stamp may read Friday, June 13th 2018, but in reality, he died on the day he accepted Christ. He died a bit more when he committed to seminary and met Y. He died a bit more on their wedding day and when they dedicated their lives to full-time missions. He died when he found life and fullness in Christ.
